Just keep going..

Okay so it was a weird week. My eating wasn't as good as it usually is, I didn't track AT ALL on MyFitnessPal and it came back to bite me in the ass! I had some pretty good workouts including a killer outdoor bootcamp I did on Saturday morning but sadly, my eating was just THAT bad that it seemed like my workouts weren't even making a difference. Talk about making me feel crappy. We had Chinese food last night and talk about feeling physically sick after. That was the wake up call I needed! I don't have to be so hard on myself all the time. I'm allowed to have a cheat meal once in a while but falling off the wagon is unacceptable. I lost sight of what was important and I'm not letting that happen again. I deserve to get this weight off. I need to get out of my own way.

4th of July is a big cookout weekend which leads to some questionable choices when it comes to food but I'm not letting that stop me. I will plan ahead, think hard before indulging and make sure to work hard enough that I EARNED a treat if I really need it that bad. Which, let's face it.. you don't need to reward yourself with food, you're not a dog.

Yep, it wasn't pretty this morning, but I deserved it. It's a new week and I'm going to own it.

Monday Weigh-In on a Tuesday :)

Sooo.. I'm a day behind again! We had a pretty busy week followed by a pretty busy weekend! (Happy belated Father's Day to all you awesome guys out there!! I am so blessed to have such a wonderful Daddy as well as a husband who is such an incredible dad to our little girls!)
I had a pretty good week. My workouts were pretty good, eating was on point aside from the occasional ice cream (okay 3 in one week is a little more than I intended but that's life) And you know what? I still lost weight. Because I am aware of what I eat, earn those extra calories by staying active and don't deprive myself. If you want an ice cream, eat a damn ice cream! :)
Let's get down to business...

Eeeeeee!! I'm so close to the 180s I can taste it!! It would be amazing if I could say goodbye to the 190's by my next weigh in. I can do it. Just gotta stay focused!

On the menu for this week...

-Pineapple chicken stir fry
-Skinnytaste Smoky Salmon w/ black beans & corn
-Loaded baked sweet potato
-Something with shrimp! Hah

Here's to another good week!
More soon!

Another short term goal crushed, Transformation Tuesday & Weekly Meal Plan

Weeeeelll this was supposed to get posted last night but Mackenzie (my toddler) was a little feisty at bed time so that didn't happen. Haha. So here it is, better late than never!

~~~~~~~~
It's that time of the week again! I had a great week and thankfully the scale agreed! I love when that happens!
My next short tern goal was to get to 194 which was what I weighed at Mackenzie's 1st birthday in October 2013. I did it and I'm so excited! It feels amazing to know that I got to a place where I seriously doubted if I could get back. This sparked a new drive in me and only makes me want to work harder. My next short term goal is to weigh 187. That's what I weighed when I graduated high school. I can't wait to continue to see the changes in me. For the first time ever, I looked through a few pictures and was actually taken back by the change. It's very hard for me to be proud of myself or see the difference. We are our own worst critic. I need to go easy on myself and realize I have come a long way and it's only going to get better from here! :)
Transformation Tuesday:
227 lbs vs. 193... Heck yes!
Oh and a fun side note, the picture on the right was taken in an Old Navy dressing room on Saturday. First time EVER (well since maybe middle school) It's a size MEDIUM. I'm still sticking to size large right now but dammit, it fit!!
~~~~~~~

Here's my meal plan for the week:

Monday: My meatless Monday Sesame Ginger Tofu Stir-fry was yummy! ;-)
Tuesday: Pesto shrimp over zoodles (zucchini noodles!
Wednesday: Grilled chicken w/ tzatziki sauce & chickpea salad
Thursday: Steak & veggies on the grill
Friday: Grilled Salmon w/ lemon dill sauce & sauteed green beans

That's it for now.. I'm not sure of our weekend plans yet!

Let's make it a great week!

Monday Weigh-In & Watching the inches come off...

                                                     Happy Monday!

Okay so I didn't lose the 3 lbs I gained last week but I'm happy with 1.6 lbs because it's a step in the right direction. If there is anything I have learned in this journey it's that I have to stay positive. The scale doesn't always tell the whole story. It's really about how you feel and the way your clothes fit. I'm happy with the changes I'm seeing. I take measurements and pictures every 3 months. I updated my stats over the weekend. I wasn't thrilled with the pictures. (Let's face it, I was hoping for dramatic change!) But I was happy with the small changes I saw. Luckily, the measuring tape doesn't lie...

March to June Measurements

stomach: -2 inches

bust: .25 inches

hips: 2 inches

arms: -1.5 inches

thighs: no change

I look forward to seeing more changes in the next 3 months. I need to keep moving forward. Even when the scale isn't on my side. I will reach my goals. I will be happy in my own skin. I will be a FIT MAMA. :)

I'm only human..

I can't believe I haven't posted in three weeks. Ugh! We haven't been especially busy but I guess busy enough! I've been doing really well with my workouts and staying motivated but over indulging last weekend gave me a disappointing result on the scale. I'm only human. I'm allowed a cheat night every once in a while. My body was shocked and wasn't thrilled with my behavior but I'm not sorry. I have no regrets. This isn't a diet. It's a lifestyle. I decided not to let the number take control of me and just worked hard this week. Hopefully I got some of my 3 lb weight gain off. We'll see tomorrow morning!

Everyone knows I LOVE Skinnytaste.com. I use a TON of her recipes. Well I tagged her on Instagram when I posted my dinner (her coconut shrimp) and she liked it as well as commented. I may have freaked out. My husband looked at me like I was nuts. Maybe I am.. but I thought that was awesome! :)

I'm working on a grocery list as we speak and planning out some meals for the week.

Lunches: Spiral cucumber salad, Tuna w/ purple cabbage, more amazing chicken salad thanks to http://www.sweettoothsweetlife.com/2015/05/14/the-best-ever-chicken-salad/

Dinners: Loaded baked sweet potato, steak on the grill, chicken piccata, salmon w/ fiesta black beans, cauliflower crust pizza

I'll be back to post my weigh-in tomorrow!

Hope everyone had a great weekend! We sure did! Here are a few pictures! :)
